Almond and Tomato Paneer



INGREDIENTS

250 gms cottage cheese (cut in cubes)

2 tsps ginger and garlic paste

1 green chili (slit lengthwise)

1 onion (grated)


4 tomatoes (Paste)

2 cardamoms (crushed)

4 cloves (crushed)

1 cinnamon stick (crushed)

1/2 cup almond nut paste

1tsp salt

1/2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp red chili powder

1/2 coriander powder

1/2 turmeric powder

2 tbsp tomato sauce

1/4 - 1/2 cup milk

1 tsp coriander leaves (finely chopped)

2 tbsp ghee for cooking


METHOD

Soak the almond nuts for 2 hours and then grind them to a smooth paste.

Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a kadai and fry the chopped onion till soft.

Add the ginger and garlic paste and fry for a minute.

Add the tomatoes cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Add almond nut paste and cook for 10 minutes on low flame till oil separates.

Now, add turmeric, coriander, cumin, red chilli powders and tomato sauce

Add paneer pieces and enough water so that there can be thick gravy.

Keep on low flame and cook for 5-7 minute.

Season with crushed cinnamon, cardamoms and cloves powder.
